Tesfu Gedar

With humble acceptance of God’s will, we announce the passing of our beloved father and pastor, Tesfu Gedar. Having endured illness in his final years, he passed away peacefully at home with loved ones at the age of eighty-eight on Monday, April 7th, 2025. 

The funeral service will be held at Berhane Wongel Ethiopian Church, 6200 N. Artesian Ave., Chicago, IL, 60659 on Saturday, April 12th from 9am - 11am. Burial and graveside service will immediately follow at Montrose Cemetery, 5400 N. Pulaski Rd., Chicago, IL 60630. Following the burial, the reception will take place at Berhane Wongel church.
