Obituary

Steven Andrew Kubica, age 53, passed away suddenly due to a heart condition that was recently diagnosed.  He was born on June 28, 1969 in Chicago.  Steven is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, his paternal grandparents, and his mother, Rebecca Rita Kubica (Anderson).  He is survived by his father, Victor Kubica.  He is the loving brother of Victor Kubica, Renee Brockelman (Louis), and Christopher Kubica.  He was an uncle to Nicole Thompson (Shawn), Matthew Brockelman, Kevin Brockelman, and Victor Steven Kubica.  He was also a great uncle to Kayla, Kaitlyn, and Alayna Thompson.

Steven was a Butcher at Paulina Market, where he met a lot of coworkers who then became close friends.  He loved helping people whenever he could.  In his free time, Las Vegas was the place where Steven found happiness.  He took a lot of trips during the years.  Steven was known for ending his conversations with the iconic phrase “Viva”.  Steven also loved sports.  He enjoyed going to the bears game for many years.  He was a huge Cubs fan as well, Bulls fan, Blackhawks fan, I guess you could say all Chicago Sports.  (With the exception of the Chicago White Soxs). Steven also loved the game of golf.  On the weekends, weather permitting, he enjoyed being outside with his friends playing golf.

Steven will be missed greatly.

A Memorial Service for him will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2023 from 1 to 5 PM
