Shlimon Samuel, 72, of Glenview, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, Illinois, surrounded by his loving family.
Shlimon was born in Habbaniyah, Iraq, on November 10, 1953, to the late Shimshon Shmuel and Marganita Warda.
Shlimon was a lover of life and was known for his deep voice, loud laugh, and joyful spirit. He was an avid sports fan, dedicated gym-goer, and a passionate member of the Church of the East and the Assyrian community. Above all, he was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend whose strength, kindness, generosity, and faith touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Amira Samuel; his daughters, Renya, Domarena, and Larsa; his son, Audisho; and his eight cherished grandchildren, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
Shlimon’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love, laughter, wisdom, and warmth he shared with those around him.
