It is with profound sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Rosaleen McCartney McElroy.** After a courageous two-year battle with cancer, Rosaleen departed this life peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025, surrounded by the unwavering love of her family.
Rosaleen was the cherished daughter of Mary McCartney and the late Brian McCartney. She was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Kevin McElroy, sharing a bond built on deep affection and mutual support. Her greatest joy and proudest legacy were her children: her adored daughters, Gemma Clare and Briana, and her nephew, Darryl, whom she lovingly raised as her own. Rosaleen's nurturing spirit created a warm and secure home filled with love and welcoming everybody with open arms.
Family was the cornerstone of Rosaleen's life. She leaves behind a loving family circle, deeply mourning her loss: her mother, Mary; her brothers, Paul and Frank; her sisters, Gemma, Marie-Claire, and Julie; her brother in-laws Michael, Stephen, John D , and John M ; her sister in-laws Kimmy, Patty, and Cheri; her soul sister Katrina and dearest friend Jan. She was predeceased by her father, Brian, but his memory remained close to her heart. Rosaleen's kindness extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her gentle presence immensely.
Visitation will be held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Christian Funeral Home (3526 N Cicero Ave, Chicago, IL 60641).
