Ramon Gerena

Ramon Gerena of Chicago IL passed away on August 22, 2025 at the age of 85. Born in
Yabucoa P.R. to Jose Vega and Dominga Gerena. He worked as a machinist at Precision
Scientific for over 25 years. Survived by his wife Luz Elba Gerena, their children Ramon,
Isabel, Alex (Kim) and Marcos. Grand children Christopher, Erika, Desiree, Sebastian,
Stephani, Raquel, Madison and Nathan. Great grand children Nathan, Abigail, Danielle,
Jordan, Itzel and Alayah.

Ramon had a deep appreciation for life’s little pleasures. He found delight in word search
puzzles and the thrill of watching wrestling matches and game shows. His competitive spirit
shone through in a good game of dominoes, where his playful banter often stole the show.
A natural storyteller and jokester, Ramon brought smiles and laughter wherever he went. His
stories could fill a room, and his jokes – sometimes groan-worthy, always endearing – left
lasting impressions. If you listen closely, you might catch him humming a tune or softly
singing to himself when he thought no one else was around.

With a green thumb and a patient hand, he nurtured both vegetables and flowers, tending his
garden with pride and care.

His presence was a gift to those lucky enough to know him – an easy smile, a warm voice,
and a heart full of love. Ramon’s memory will live on in every puzzle solved, every domino
played, and every flower blooming under the sun.

He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
