Ramon Aziz, beloved husband and father, passed away on January 28, 2026 at the age of 76, after a brief but brave battle with cancer.
He was born on November 9, 1949, in Iraq to Shamil Aziz Albazi and Rachel Youhanna Daniel, and grew up alongside his sister, Marline Georgis, and brother, Sami Aziz. He pursued a career in electrical engineering, and in 1979 continued his education in Chicago, where he earned a Master’s degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
He built a long and meaningful career with General Motors and Delphi Electronics in Kokomo, Indiana. Even after retiring in 2020, he quickly returned to work as a consultant, driven by his love for the work and deep respect and love for the people he worked alongside.
In 1986, he married Heny Farhad, and together they built their life in Carmel, Indiana. They raised two daughters, Rachel and Rebekah. Rachel lives in Denver, Colorado, where she practices as a dentist. Rebekah lives in Chicago with her husband, Jake Bell, and works as a pharmacist. He was a devoted and supportive father, proudly standing behind his daughters through every stage of their lives.
He was a lifelong soccer fan and devoted supporter of Manchester United, even having played in leagues with friends well into adulthood. He loved to travel for work and fun. He cherished time with family and friends, especially trips to Florida. Visits to Disney World with his daughters and travels shared with longtime friends were among his favorite memories.
He was known for his generosity, kindness, and quiet strength. He lived without fear, embraced new experiences, and made those around him feel safe and supported. He cherished time and celebrations with his family and relatives. Among those family and friends, he was recognized for his joyful spirit and unmistakable dance moves.
He worked hard, enjoyed life even harder, and believed deeply in living for today because tomorrow was never guaranteed. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
He is survived by his wife, Heny Farhad; his daughters, Rachel Aziz and Rebekah Aziz, and Rebekah’s husband, Jake Bell; his sister, Marline Georgis, her husband, Ramon Georgis, and their children, Daniel and Martha; and his brother, Sami Aziz, his wife, Rita Aziz, and their children, Renee and Ryan.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 6, at 10:00 a.m. at Assyrian Church of the East - St. Andrew’s Parish (901 N Milwaukee Ave, Glenview, IL 60025). Burial will follow at Montrose Cemetery (5400 N Pulaski Rd, Chicago, IL), and a lunch gathering for family and friends will be held immediately afterwards.
