Narciso Tavas

Narciso Tavas passed away Thursday, June 16th, 2022. Narciso is survived by his beloved wife Purita (nee Mercado), loving children, step children and nephew Virgil (Mercedes) Tavas, Leony Tavas-Scott, Maria Rener, Roe Tavas, Art Tavas, and Kevin (Kristy) Tavas, Rolando (Agnes) Afante, Rowena (Robert) Afante-Roca, Maria Rubirosa (Alan) Afante-Arce and nephew Jay. Cherished grandfather to Gabe, Bianca, Michelle, Toni, Tara (Bino), Phil (Winnie), Angelo, Oli, Nolan, Clark, Patrick, Michael, J.C., Rhen, Rhez, Ron Ron, Alyanah, Alyzah, Alaine. Great grandfather to Bella, Kai, Mimi, Cruz, Chloe, Emilia. He was preceded in death by his first wife Corazon Tavas. 

Narciso immigrated to the United States from the Philippines with his family in 1972 on an L-1 visa from Wrigley Philippines where he served as Factory Manager. He retired in 1995 from Wrigley Chicago where he was a Sr. Manager, having traveled overseas to help build factories and manufacturing processes in Europe and Asia. Narciso enjoyed a great life of family-building and travel with his first wife Cora (deceased 2007) and life filled with fun, dancing and hanging out with new friends in his last dozen years with second wife Purita.

Visitation will be held at Christian Funeral Home on Sunday, June 26th, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.

Funeral Mass will be held at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church on Monday, June 27th, 2022 at 11:00 AM.
