Najat Rehana Obituary

Najat Baijan Rehana, born on November 28, 1945 in Baghdad, Iraq passed away peacefully in her bed on September 20, 2020 at the young age of 74 in Mount Prospect, Illinois.

To have known Najat (Naju, Yaya, Poku, Kalet, Khat, and Ima) meant to have loved her. It meant to have been loved by her. She touched every person she ever met, and she enriched their lives with stories of the past, food from the heart, and an indelible love that can never be replaced.

Our mother has found peace at last, back in the arms of her loving, late husband and surrounded by the so many she had lost in her rich lifetime. We will forever miss her smile and laughter that captivated the room. We will forever be grateful for the memories we have with her, the teachings that she imparted on us, and the love that she showered us with. Rest in heavenly peace, mother.

Najat was the daughter of Baijan Aziz (deceased) and Shooshan Mona (deceased) and wife of Youab Rehana (deceased). She was the mother of Ron Rehana and Sharon Rehana, and the grandmother of Gwyneth, Charlize, and Joab Rehana. She was the sister of Andrews Jacob, Jonathan Aziz, Margaret Lazar (deceased), Mary Jacob, Timmy Yacoub (deceased), Edmond Jacob (deceased), Digol Jacob (deceased), Johnny Jacob, Janet Taroyan (deceased), and Anjel Jacob.
