Mary Jacob

Mary Jacob, born on April 18, 1936 in Baghdad, Iraq passed away peacefully in her bed on April 9, 2022 at 85 years old in Glenview, Illinois.

Mary touched the lives of all those who knew her. She was a mother and caretaker to so many—young and old—devoting her life to caring for those that she loved. She brought joy into every occasion whether she baked from scratch a birthday cake for you, brushed out and braided your hair, knitted a blanket that soothed your soul when you were feeling ill, or just simply yelled at you to not change the channel when she was watching her favorite game shows during your favorite cartoons (Press Your Luck and Price is Right were her favorites)!

She was our favorite—all of ours—and she has found peace at last, back in the arms of her loving parents and surrounded by so many siblings she longed to reunite with. We will forever miss her smile and her heart. Rest in heavenly peace, dearest auntie, mother to all of us.

Mary was the daughter of Baijan Aziz (deceased) and Shooshan Mona (deceased). She was the sister of Andrews Jacob (deceased), Jonathan Aziz, Margaret Lazar (deceased), Timmy Yacoub (deceased), Edmond Jacob (deceased), Najat Rehana (deceased), Digol Jacob (deceased), Johnny Jacob, Janet Taroyan (deceased), and Anjel Jacob.

Additional Info: Service and Funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at St Andrews Assyrian Church in Glenview.

Church Service: 10:00-11AM

Funeral at Montrose Cemetery at 11:30am
