Margaret I Khouri

Margaret Ishu Khouri (nee Younan), known affectionately as Geeto, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2023 at the age of 71 in Glenview, Illinois. She was born on April 29, 1952, in Beirut, Lebanon to the late Ishu and Kay Younan.

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband, Dan Khouri, and their three daughters: Diane Joseph (Tony), Dorise Zerang (Steve), and Denise Galanis (Nick). She was a cherished grandmother to David Joseph, Daniel Joseph, Simone Joseph, Liliana Zerang, Margaret Zerang, James Galanis, Lea Galanis, and Christos Galanis.  Margaret is also survived by her beloved brother, Henry Younan (Yolla). She was a loving aunt and cousin to many in Chicago, Sweden, and Australia. 

Family will be accepting condolences on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Mar Sargis Assyrian Church of The East, located at 5050 Church Street, Skokie, Illinois 60077. Funeral mass will take place on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:30am at the same church, followed by internment burial at Maryhill Cemetery, 8600 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Niles, IL 60714.

Margaret Ishu Khouri will be remembered as a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her love and devotion to her family will forever be treasured. May she rest in eternal peace.
