Kathleen Alice Thomas

Kathleen Alice Thomas of Evanston, Illinois died on Tuesday, January 16, 2024. Kathy was born on March 8, 1954 in Chicago, IL to Paul Edgerton Thomas and Julia Margaret (Repicka) Thomas. She was the oldest of nine siblings.

She attended Chicago Public Schools, graduating from Northeastern University in 2004.

Her greatest joy was her daughter Kamara Thomas and granddaughters Cherokee and Isis. She retired from Wheels in Des Plaines after many years running the mailroom. She served as the Office Administrator for North Shore Seventh-Day Adventist Church for over 20 years.

She is survived by her daughter Kamara and two granddaughters Cherokee and Isis; Kathy’s siblings John (& Marion) Thomas, Robert Thomas; Susan Ellington, Peggy Ann Lee Fischer, Michael (& Tammy) Thomas and Tom Thomas, and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents and brothers William Thomas and Daniel Thomas.

A Memorial Service, led by Pastor Jonathan Burnett, will take place on Saturday, January 20th at 3:00pm at North Shore Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 5220 N. California Avenue; Chicago IL 60625. A time of fellowship and food follows the service. Memorials may be given to North Shore Adventist Church for the Kathy Thomas Garden Fund.  Video of Ms. Thomas's memorial service can be found here.
