James Burton Kolstad passed away peacefully at Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence at Elk Grove Village on June 22nd, 2021 at the age of 82.
James was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Born in Madison, Wisconsin to Robert and Esther Kolstad on June 22, 1939, James was a part of the Wisconsin Air Corps Reserve for three years where he worked on jet engines. He briefly attended the University of Wisconsin. James then attended Pillsbury College in Minnesota for a time where he met his wife Kathleen and married in 1963. James drove a bus for the CTA for 47 years until he retired in 2005. James was very faithful in serving the Lord at his local church in multiple ministries.
James is survived by his children, William Kolstad, Kimberly Bradley (son-in-law James Bradley), Allen Kolstad (daughter-in-law Janice); his grandchildren Benjamin Bradley, William Bradley (wife Maria Bradley), Elizabeth Serritos (husband John Serritos); his great-grandchildren Daisy Serritos (whom James was happily waiting his second granddaughter); and his siblings Donna Day, Kenneth Kolstad (deceased), Sandra Sletten (husband Rodney Sletten, deceased).
James will be honored Friday June 25th from 4-7 PM for a visitation with a Memorial Service at 7PM at New Hope Church, 5100 w 115th st in Alsip, IL 60803.
Funeral will meet on Saturday June 26th at 10 AM at New Hope Church in procession to Fairmont Willow Hills Memorial Park, 9100 Archer Ave in Willow Springs, IL 60480.
