James (Jim) M. Jodrey, (age 78) of Lake Barrington, Illinois, passed away January 21, 2025. He is now at home in Heaven with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Jim was born on July 15, 1946 in Lake Egmont, Nova Scotia, Canada to Herbert & Florence Jodrey. Jim started working with Air Canada in Toronto in July of 1967. He also worked in sales & marketing positions with Transair, Budget Corporation, Associated Travel Network and US Travel. In 1995 God called him into full time ministry where he served with Harvest Bible Chapel, Administer Justice and Harvest Community Church of Oak Creek, WI. He then retired from the Village Church of Barrington in 2022. He met his wife Brenda when both were employed with Transair, they were married in April 1978 and, through a job transfer, moved to Chicago in 1979.
He is survived by his wife Brenda, their two sons Jayson (Emily) their children Penelope and Luna, Kyle (Lydia) and their children William, Lincoln, Eloise and Lucia, sisters Karen Annand, twin Judy Lushington (Don) and brothers Lowell and Kevin, brothers-in-law Frank Riley (Barbara), Terry Riley (Patti) and many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by his parents, sister Marianne Abolit, brothers Vince & Lonnie, nephew Billy Abolit and brothers-in-law Howard Annand and Rennie Abolit.
Family and friends will be received at Village Church of Barrington, 1600 E. Main Street, Barrington Illinois on Friday, February 7 from 3 pm to 7 pm. A celebration of life service will be held at the Village Church of Barrington on Saturday February 8 at 10:30 am.
Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Village Church of Barrington, Entrusted with a Child’s Heart and the 222 Foundation; in lieu of flowers.
