In Suk Wangerin

In Suk Wangerin, a long-time resident of Chicago, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 27, 2024. She was born in Korea on March 25, 1951, and brought joy to all who knew her throughout her life. She came to Chicago in the early 1980s with her husband and newborn son. She is survived by her son, Timothy Wangerin, and his wife, Jamie, of Villa Park; her daughter, Heather Wangerin, and three grandchildren, of Chicago; her sister, In Sun Deverman, and her husband, Donald; and her brother, Young Jin Park. In Suk was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Wangerin, in 2003.

Fondly known by many as “Omma” or “Sue”, In Suk cared deeply for her friends and family. She had a youthful spirit and found joy in cooking, music, and animals.

Friends and family will gather to honor and remember In Suk's life from 5pm to 9pm on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Christian Funeral Home, 3100 W Irving Park Rd, Chicago, IL 60618.
