Doyle William Tunnat Sr

Doyle William “Opa” Tunnat Sr., 63 years old, of Chicago, IL and Somerset, KY, passed away on June 26,2022 in Evanston, IL.

Funeral services will be held 4-9pm on Friday, July 1st, 2022 at Christian Funeral Home in Chicago.  His ashes will be divided amongst his children and his wife. 

Doyle Sr. was born in Chicago to Joan Tunnat and the late William Tunnat on November 15, 1958.

He went to Roosevelt high school in Chicago. He is married to Marjorie Fugate. He worked most of his life as a dental lab technician and took great pride in his job that he was very talented at. His humor, love for music, and persona as “Larger than Life” stayed with him throughout the decades! What he was most proud of were his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren…and his hair! 

Doyle Sr. is preceded in death by his father William Tunnat.

Doyle Sr. is survived by his wife Marjorie, his  children Amy “Face” Barretto (Michael), Doyle “Fathead” Tunnat Jr. (Betty), Tasha “Winter” Jotzat, Jessica “Bella” Tunnat, and Matthew “Cosmo” Tunnat, his brothers Kevin and Mark Tunnat, his mother Joan Tunnat, his 17 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. 

He took his job as dad the most serious and in return they made the decision to honor him as hero and to “go out like a champ” by donating his organs giving the the gift of life.
