Dorthy Doma Obituary

Dorothy Swamydass Doma, daughter of Swamydass Gattu and Tulsamma Swamydass, was born on August 24, 1936, in Medak, India. She was one of nine children, the second to last in the Gattu family. She was a beloved sister to three elder brothers, four elder sisters, and one younger sister.

Dorothy completed her nursing education and began her career at Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital in Hyderabad, India. She dedicated 45 years of service as a nursing superintendent, loved and respected by both patients and staff. She was also an active member of CSI Wesley Church in Ramkote, India, and a committed advocate for the Gospel through various ministries alongside like-minded believers.

She met the love of her life, the late Mr. Vinayasagar Doma, and they were joined in holy matrimony on May 11, 1959. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home and raised three children: their firstborn, the late Wilson Sampath Doma; their second child, the late Allen Rupender Doma; and their youngest, most spoiled and only daughter, Anita Sagar Amara.
After faithfully serving as a healthcare professional in India, Dorothy retired in August 1993 and immigrated to the United States. She spent her later years creating lasting memories with her children and their families, while frequently visiting her son in India. Her family doubled and even tripled with the births of her grandchildren, and she poured her heart into helping raise them. She was blessed to witness the wedding of her eldest granddaughter, Eva Dorcas, and to become a great-grandmother to two great-grandchildren. She also shared a special bond with her favorite furry companion, her cat Mia.

Her final days were spent surrounded by her loved ones, and she peacefully reunited with her Lord on August 7, 2025, at 9:58 PM.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings, her husband Vinayasagar Doma, her eldest son Wilson Sampath Doma, and her younger son Allen Rupender Doma.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita Sagar Amara, and her cherished son-in-law, Jessy Amara; her daughters-in-law, Sunitha Doma and Conie Doma; her grandchildren, Cynthia Doma, Mark Doma, Eva Dorcas, Tina Dolphin, Joe Amara, Joel Amara; and her great-grandchildren, Aradyan Paul and Juniya Myra.
