David Lawrence Aycock, age 73, of Addison, IL, passed away on July 4, 2025, surrounded by his family. Dave was born on December 12, 1951, in Chicago, IL, to Bill and Earnie Aycock. He attended and graduated from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, from 1969 to 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology. He later earned his Master’s in Counseling from The Master’s College in Santa Clarita, California, in 2006.
Dave was known for his unique sense of humor and his love of nature, hiking, gardening (especially tomatoes!), puzzles, and reading. Most of all, he was known for his deep love for Jesus and for caring for others — whether teaching youth, visiting the sick, or praying with anyone in need through his ministries at Ravenswood Baptist and Messiah Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Jill; his sons, David (Karla) and Mark (Kristen); five grandchildren — Jeremy, Alyssa, Madi, Gavin, and Avrie; and his sister, Deb.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10th, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Messiah Baptist Church in Addison, IL. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 6:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Missions in Dave’s memory at Messiah Baptist Church. Life Verse: Hebrews 11:6 (NASB) — “And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for the one who comes to God must believe that He exists and that He proves to be one who rewards those who seek Him.”
In lieu of flowers donations can be made here.
