Angel Cruz Obituary

Angel L. Cruz. Born in Puerto Rico and passing from this world on July 1st, Angel was so much more than just the patriarch of our family. He was the heart of it. If you knew Angel, you knew joy. He had a big laugh, a loud voice, and an even bigger heart. He was funny, generous, caring — often silly and sweet in the same breath. He was the loudest in the room, usually with music playing, and a slice of flan in hand. He had the world’s biggest sweet tooth, and no one made flan like he did — creamy, perfect, and made with love. Angel loved being around family. That’s when he was most himself — surrounded by laughter, good food, music, and the people he loved. He was confident, bold, and unapologetically himself — especially when he was cracking jokes that made us all roll our eyes and laugh anyway. He was a provider, a hard worker, and a true father figure — not only to his own children, Jeremiah, Paulina, and Michael, but also to his 8 sisters and 5 brothers who he loved dearly. His love with his wife Elizabeth, lasted over 50 years, is a testament to loyalty, resilience, and devotion. Together they built a family that reflects the values Angel lived by: love, connection, and perseverance. Angel was an amazing grandfather — encouraging, playful, and always present. He left his mark on each of his grandchildren: Fransheska, Anissa, Michelangelo, Victoria, Aiden, Elisabetta, and Giovanni, and his great-grandchildren Penelope, Valentina, and Carmen Joy, who will grow up hearing stories about the man who brought so much light into our lives. His legacy is not only in the stories we tell but in the love we carry — the laughter, the music, the meals, the moments we’ll never forget. Angel reminded us to cherish each other, to live fully, and to laugh whenever possible. We will miss him more than words can say, but we carry him with us — in every family gathering, in every sweet bite of flan, in every song that gets us moving, and in every laugh that comes straight from the soul. Rest easy, Angel. Thank you for the love, the lessons, and the laughter. We love you always.
