Susan H Jacobi

Sue Jacobi, loving mother of John and Mark and faithful wife to Rick, went home to the Lord on June 5, 2019 after living boldly and joyfully for many years with Huntington’s Disease.

Sue was born March 28, 1950 to Otto and Dorothy Reinisch in Chicago, IL. She attended Waters Elementary, Roosevelt High School and North Park University. She married her high school sweetheart, Rick, in 1971. She worked as an accountant while raising her boys and caring for her husband through his long years of illness. She loved taking trips with her family and was happiest during long days spent on the beach in Marco Island, Florida. She was a vibrant member of South Park Church in Park Ridge. The church was so good to Sue, especially during the last few years of her life; her small groups kept her busy all week long. She always said life was about “faith, family, food, friends and fun.” She lived up to that mantra all the way until the last few days of her life - enjoying her daily pancake breakfast at Sugar Bowl and always ready to joke with her boys. She was a wonderful mother to them and they, in turn, became wonderful caretakers for her. She couldn’t have been prouder of the men they’ve become.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Rick, dear sister Carol Kurinsky and loving parents Dorothy and Otto. She is survived by her sons John and Mark, daughter-in-law Maura, brother Otto Reinisch, her sister-in-law Lory Reinisch, brother-in-law Emil Kurinsky, brother-in-law Jack Jacobi, sister-in-law Laurie Jacobi, brother-in-law Cotty Lowry, and many nephews and nieces.
