Sandra Lee Rector

Sandra Lee Rector, 73, went home to be with her Savior on October 25, 2019. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God supported her in her struggle and ultimately gave her peace.

Sandra was born to the late James and Betty Huff, in Dennison, OH on July 4, 1946. She was blessed with a large and loving family. As a single mom, she raised her three sons in the difficult streets of Uptown in the city of Chicago; being blessed of the men that she brought up with tears and hope.

Sandra was a good mom who loved her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all her heart. She is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her Creator.

Sandra is survived by her sons and daughter in laws Richard and Becky Rector, Jeffrey and Carmen Rector and Tony and Milza Aviles. Her grandchildren Chrystal Rector, Bennie Alvarez, Jason Rector, Brian Rector, Stephanie Rector, Noelle Warren, Jennifer Oquendo, Sandra Rector, Jeffrey Rector, Carmen Stern, Noah Aviles and Reina Aviles. Her great-grandchildren Nathaniel Oquendo, Ava Mora, John Alvarez and Julie Amaya. Her sister Shirley Ortiz and her brother Bruce Huff. She is preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Huff and her parents.

The funeral will be at Christian Funeral Home, 3100 W Irving Park on October 30 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Sandra will be buried at the Montrose Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. on October 30.There will be a “Home Going Service” at the River of Life Worship International Church, 3542 W Sunnyside Ave, on November 3 at 4pm.
