Margarita "Goddy" Maldonado

Our beloved Margarita "Goddy" Maldonado, 61, of Chicago, Illinois, went to be with her Lord and savior on April 9, 2018, while in her peaceful rest.

Margarita, or "Goddy" as she was known to her friends and loved ones was born in Chicago to Ignacio and Maria Espada on April 8, 1957. She lived her entire life in Chicago, near her dearly loved family.
"Goddy" was a devoted mom and wife who worked in retail and other manufacturing positions. She loved to cook, dance to all kinds of music and dress to impress. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, which was her prized possession.

"Goddy" was always the life of the party. With her mega-watt smile, vivacious attitude and impeccable style- everyone knew when she was around and we all loved her for it.   

Margarita is preceded in death by her parents (Ignacio and Maria), and various uncles, aunts, cousins.

Margarita is survived by her husband of 44 years, Carlos Maldonado; three children; Rosabel (Juan) Sanchez, Natalia, and Carlos; six siblings: Roldan (Catherine) Espada, Ramon (Elsa) Espada, Maria Espada, David (Johnnie) Espada, Basilio (Maria) Espada, Ignacio (Jennifer) Espada and four grandchildren: Bianca, Naomi, Nathan and Giselle Sanchez, also numerous other family members. 

The family invites all who loved "Goddy" to come celebrate her life and legacy at a special memorial service to be held on Sunday, April 15th from 5-9pm at New Life Community Church-Cicero, located at 3601 S. 61st Ave. Cicero, IL 60804. Program will begin at 6:30pm. Light refreshments and snacks provided

Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 16th at New Life Community Church-Cicero, located at 3601 S. 61st Ave. Cicero, IL 60804, with interment to follow at Mount Greenwood Cemetery, 2900 W. 111th St, Chicago, IL 60655.
