Trinidad Rinconeno Obituary

Trinidad (Mata) Rinconeno, known by most simply as, Trina, was born in Taylor, Texas, on the 8th of June, 1941, to Santana and Francisca Mata.  As a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt,  grandmother and great grandmother, she was dearly loved and respected. She was the eldest of eight siblings, mother of six, grandmother of eleven and great grandmother of one.

As a child, Trina loved to read, color and draw. She had recently shared a story of a fond childhood memory. On occasion, her father, Santana, would come home from work with a special surprise. Crayons! Trina recalled coloring many nights on the living room floor. Each crayon was used until it was merely a, "nub" for she knew it might be awhile until the next surprise. She carried that childhood love into her final days; she had a way of bringing every page to life.

Some of her children's earliest memories were of her singing and whistling to music which was always playing throughout the house. Her love for music is just one of many traits she passed on. Trina taught her kids the importance of helping those in need, by her many acts of kindness. As a member of the 7th ward women's auxiliary club she helped organize and deliver holiday meals, participated in the back to school drive for families in need,  prepared sack lunches for the homeless, and made military care packages during the gulf war. These are just a few of the many things that she did without the need of praise or acknowledgement.

Trina's care, compassion, loyalty, dedication and endless love to family and friends, are still felt today and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Trina's sense of humor, laughter and beautiful smile, brightened many not so bright days.

The hardships she endured gave us the strength and courage to carry on, by her example, we too knew that we could endure hardships of our own and face another day.

Today, we continue our journey without you. The many memories of your love and affection will never be forgotten. Our broken hearts will one day be mended in heaven where you await.

Trina was preceded in death by her parents Santana & Francisca, her sister Justina, her brother Vicente, and two beloved sons Raulito and Ricardo. She is survived by her children Miguel Rinconeno Jr., Terese Castellanos, Cris Wilson, Cristina Wilson, her grandchildren; Brittny, Ricardo Jr., Adam, Anthony, Mia, Cristian, Sofia, Alyssa, Aniya, Christopher, and Isabella, and her great grandson Gianni.
