Jose L Penalosa Jr.

Jose Ladines Peñalosa, Jr. (Celing, to his family; Lito, to his friends; Joe or Larry, to his colleagues),   of Chicago, Illinois, passed on Monday, March 02, 2020, at the age of 86.  He was born November 14, 1933, in Lucena City, Philippines, son of Jose Eleazar Peñalosa, Sr. and Petra Nañola Ladines Peñalosa.  He was a graduate of The University of Manila High School and Luzonian University Foundation.  He immigrated to the United States in August 1972.  He worked at Mary Thompson Hospital in the accounting department.  He was happily married to Helen Grace Gagan Peñalosa, who was his partner in life for 37 years and had his family of four children, Jonah Lynn, Joseph Lawrence, Jevon Lief and Jenny Lind.  He was a member of the Filipino Planning Committee at Our Lady of Mercy Church where he enjoyed servicing the community for 22 years.  He devoted his entire life to his family and faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Eleazar Peñalosa, Sr. and Petra Nañola Ladines Peñalosa; brother, Roglio Ladines Peñalosa.  He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Grace Gagan Peñalosa; his two daughters, Jonah Lynn Gagan Peñalosa and Jenny Lind Gagan Peñalosa; his two sons Joseph Lawrence Gagan Peñalosa and Jevon Leif Gagan Peñalosa; his granddaughters, Kairi Lynn Peñalosa Ruiz and Naminé Lynn Peñalosa Ruiz; his grandson, Remy LeBeau Peñalosa Ruiz; his sister, Evangelina (Vanjie) Peñalosa Landicho; his brothers, Wilfredo (Wally) Ladines Peñalosa, Edgar (Nie) Ladines Peñalosa, Antonio (Tony) Ladines Peñalosa and Felipe (Jessie) Ladines Peñalosa.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL 60618, (773)478-3240.  Funeral Mass, Saturday, March 7th, at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 4432 N. Troy St., Chicago, IL 60625, (773) 588-2620.  Burial will follow by 11am
