John Hunter Obituary

John R. Hunter, aged 69.

John "Ron" Hunter, 69, returned to his heavenly home on November 25, 2017. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his final days and he went peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones. Ron was born to the late John and Betty Hunter August 4, 1948. He grew up in Chicago and attended St. Matthias Grade School and graduated from Amundsen High School in 1966. He studied at Greer Technical Institute of Chicago and later became owner of an auto body shop. In 1999 he switched careers to PC Technician after completing studies at College of Lake County and worked for the Lake Villa School District until he retired in 2010. Ron was blessed with a loving family. He married his high school sweetheart Evelyn on November 22, 1969. They had two sons; Chris and Tim. He was actively involved at Christian Life Fellowship for 33 years. He loved packing up his camper and going on camping trips, skeet shooting, visiting Antique stores, and watching Sherlock Holmes and Monk. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his Creator. Ron is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his sons Chris and Tim; his grandchildren Isabelle, Caleb and Madilyn. He is preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Hunter and his parents. Ron's home going celebration will be at Christian Life Fellowship, 41625 N. Deep Lake Road, Antioch, Illinois 60002. Visitation will be 4:00-5:00 pm; Service 5:00-6:00 pm; Dinner at 6:00 pm provided by the church. Reverend Jeffrey J. Brussaly will officiate the service.
