Jeanette Hancock Obituary

Faithful saint, loving wife, dedicated mother, and loyal friend. Proud of her heritage, she was a true coal-miner’s daughter whose humble beginnings in the hills of West Virginia followed her heart, along with twin sister Janet, to Chicago seeking better opportunities. Married the man she loved, Darrell, and dedicated her life to her family, church and teaching her two sons; Darren & Daniel, Biblical truths and training them in the values of perseverance, service and thankfulness. She was known for her sweet demeanor and quiet strength but not shy about sharing her colorful opinion when needed. Her no nonsense approach to life endeared her to her many friends and coworkers throughout life, to whom she was always willing to lend a helping hand no matter the circumstances. As the family grew to include two daughters-in-law; Sharon & Theresa, and five grandchildren; Devyn, Owen, Kailey, Audrey & Caleb, she relished in sharing her love and support. Always a selfless giver she never expected anything in return; your life was enriched by knowing her and the world was better with her in it.  She is now rejoicing with fellow believers in the presence of the Lord and we all look forward to that heavenly reunion. She also would like you to know John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten son that whosever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

Predeceased in death by her husband Darrell (10/04/2015), parents Thelma (09/09/1969) and Randall Stone (12/19/2003) of Julian, WV, her brothers Jarrell (Elva) Stone (01/19/2014) of Olney, IL, James (Frances) Walters (12/30/14) of Barboursville, WV and sister Jean (David) Smith (08/01/2003) of Julian, WV. Survived by her sisters Jewel (Earl) Chaffinch of Seaford, DE and Janet (Richard) Warren of Kimberling City, MO.
