Joan Fisher

On Friday, October 18th, 2019, Joan Simmons Fisher loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 76. 

Joan was born on May 22, 1943 in Newbern, TN to Charlie & Ursula (Douglas) Simmons. She was gentle but strong. She had a forgiving heart. Through God's guiding light people were drawn to her because she made them feel special by her tenderness, compassion and listening heart. She was a faithful servant of the Lord and a prayer warrior. 

Joan was preceded in death by her father, Charlie, her mother, Ursula and her sister Annie Lee (Simmons) Lott. She is survived by her two children, Sonja (Fisher) O'Brien, Allen Fisher & his wife Carrie, her three grandchildren, Shawn O'Brien & his wife Autumn, Gabriel Fisher and Tristian Fisher, her four great grandchildren, Emma, Molly, Logan & Clark O'Brien, her two brothers, Dude Simmons & wife Beth, John Simmons & wife Lou Ann and several nieces, nephews, aunts & cousins whom she loved very much.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Messiah Baptist Church, Addison IL at 7PM with visitation starting at 5PM.
